‘Skin of the Sea’ was birthed by a synergy of two creative endeavours, photography and surfing. With one element complimenting the other, the nature of individual expression and dual metamorphosis are amplified. The art of water and surf photography accompanies the ever changing pace at which surfing, and the expression of which, evolves, inspiring me to capture the unique forms designed by the sea. My work embodies the shifting moods of the surface of the sea, appreciating its ever changing texture, shape, colour and momentum. 

Photography has been vividly present throughout my life, evolving alongside my interests, self expression, and career development. During my bachelor degree in Photography at the Arts University Bournemouth, on the south coast of England, surfing made its way into my life, eventually forming an inseparable relationship with my camera. Once surfing started dictating most aspects of my life, I decided to buy my first water housing so as to bring my camera in and amongst the waves with me, to capture my intimate relationship with the element. Ever since, shooting dawn and dusk’s vibrant reflections, curling lips and frothing chop, the duality of the ocean’s unforgiving moodiness and inviting tranquility, became a staple in my work.
